eHigh Voltage Awareness (Level 1)

Get up to speed with Zero-Emission Buses (ZEBs) through the High-Voltage Awareness Level 1 self-paced online course. Designed for all personnel who may be exposed to high-voltage circuits, this course equips you with the knowledge to identify electrical hazards and take preventive measures to ensure safety. Learn to recognize potential electrical hazards and common injuries, explore training requirements for transit personnel, identify important visual cues, and walk away with the information you need to stay safe around ZEBs. Number of Hours/Days: • 2 hours online In this course, participants will: • Identify electrical hazards and describe the injuries they can cause • Distinguish between the roles of Aware, Qualified, and Authorized personnel in a high-voltage environment • List and recognize the visual cues that indicate the presence of hazardous voltage • Download the Emergency Response Guide for your specific bus and learn how to disable the high-voltage system in an emergency • Apply effective strategies to prevent electrical accidents and ensure a safe working environment Course Benefits: • Safety Awareness: Build a strong foundation in high-voltage safety to prevent accidents and injuries • Role Clarity: Differentiate between the various roles and responsibilities in ZEB environments • Visual Identification: Recognize visual cues that signal electrical hazards, improving your ability to respond to potential dangers • Industry-Standard Training: Receive training based on the principles of OSHA 1910 and the latest edition of NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace Compliance: • All personnel are required to take and pass this course every 3 years. Contact Release

Whether you are directly involved in electrical tasks or not, understanding and executing proper rescue techniques can dramatically improve outcomes in emergency situations. This course meets industry compliance standards and empowers you with the confidence to act decisively in life-threatening situations. You will learn the necessary steps and recommended practices to accomplish a quick, safe, and efficient response to an electric shock incident. Digital Volt-Ohm Meter for Electric Buses

Prerequisites: Personal experience with a Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM) desired Course Description: The Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM) for Transit self-paced distance learning course is designed to improve technicians’ understanding of basic DVOM functions. Students will be working with a virtual DVOM to learn its safe usage and best practices. The course includes both knowledge topics and knowledge activities. Reference material will be provided as Resources. Course Benefits: Students will be exposed to the most commonly used capabilities of the DVOM. Students will gain knowledge about the functions and usage of the DVOM using the virtual meter in a controlled environment.
